So, Best Picture hey... first off, 'American Hustle' was freaking borrrring. So if we've learned anything from the 'English Patient', this'll probably be our winner. Captain Philips - good movie. GOOD. Not amazeballs, but good. So no. Having said that, Tom Hanks losing his shit at the end is definitely deserving of the gold trophy. 'Gravity' - a shoe in for any effects awards - as for a best picture of the year, I was more dazzled by the spectacle than stunned by the emotions, so no. '12 Years a slave' - I effing LOVED this movie. The acting was top notch, directing was high caliber, everything here worked for me - except some of the screenplay. It almost felt as though some of the speeches were written by the 'Braveheart' scribe (Some dude who's name ends with Wallace), but whatever - this move was awesome. Plus it had two of my three favorite male actors at the moment, so I'm cool with that too. 'Wolf of Wall Street'. Sigh. Here's a movie that I feel about the same as i do about 'Catch me if you can'; Didn't love it, didn't hate it. But DiCaprio is amazing, as always, I just didn't care about anyone.
